Why are both my cats vomiting? Help!

I have two cats, sisters & last week one of them started vomiting, a lot. After a few days, I took her to the vet, she stayed there for 2 days, for observation, to get blood work & an x-ray - everything came back normal. I brought her home on the saturday afternoon & she promptly started vomiting again that night. The same night, my other cat started vomiting and both have continued until today. The cat that got sick first has definitely slowed down on the vomiting, only doing it now once a day & she is managing to keep some food down. The other cat though has increased & vomits as soon as she eats. I have put them on a natural, grain free diet as of yesterday, but neither cat likes the food, with only the slightly better one eating a few pellets here & there. I dont want to put them back on Fancy Feast, as I want to try the new diet, but am concerned they are not eating enough. Both are drinking water every now again. Any ideas what is wrong with them? I live in SF, is there a virus?

We're not vets here, "just" cat lovers with various degrees of experience. Did they vomit at the vet's? If not, were they on a special diet there, or were they taking an antiemetic (anti-nausea) medicine? And what were they eating at the vet's? If they weren't vomiting at the vet's, it could be something in your home. Has anything changed recently? A new plant, for example, that they like to nibble on? Any bug repellant floating around? Changing diets may be a good idea eventually, but too sudden a change in itself can cause tummy upset. Make sure they are well-hydrated--vomiting causes dehydration, which is more dangerous than a scanty diet. You can force them to drink water with a syringe (make sure it's clean and new). I'd recommend that you think about whether there are any poisonous substances (including plants) that they may have gotten into. And a second opinion from a different vet is always a good idea.
