So, my cat is about 3 years old, is not on medication and the doctor says he is healthy at every checkup. He has not been acting differently at all. He sleeps with me in my room almost every night; but last night when I got out of bed to turn off the TV, he followed me as usual, and as I was about to get back in bed, I noticed a wet spot where he was laying. The spot was odorless and colorless. It was like I might have spilled water or something, but I didn't. Does anyone have any idea what this could be??? I just want to make sure he is ok :x

ASKED BY

Can cats be born without claws?

I doubt they can, but for some reason, Miko did not have claws when she came to us about a year or two ago. My mother's first assumption when she realized Miko was clawless, (which was about 8 months or so after she came here) was that she maybe had an owner who had her declawed and escaped from inside the house. But everything else about her seemed to indicate that she was a stray... She was hanging with other stray kitties... We also think maybe she was fixed because she hasn't become pregnant yet (as far as we know) and there are lots of stray male kitties that come around. Anyway, my question is.. Can cats be born without claws, or was she declawed at one time? I'm asking because I don't want to feel guilty that my mom kept someone else's cat, thinking it was a stray...

Edit: A majority of this town's animals are strays, and most people here don't assume otherwise. :( They just feed them if they come in the yard. My mom had her for awhile before she realized Miko's claws were gone

ASKED BY

Could eating poop make Ayla throw up?

So Ayla woke me up at midnight last night and she smelt awful so I went down stairs and sure enough she had pooped in the litter box. I could see that it was a mushy poop and that while covering it up she had stepped in it. I guess she had tried to lick it off her feet. I cleaned the rest of her feet off with a gentle baby soap and water. But while I was cleaning out the litter box she threw up a little stomach acid. She's fine this morning, playing, eating, drinking. So could licking and basically eating the poop off of her feet make her throw up? I know it would have made me throw up? Thanks.

ASKED BY

There is a (friendly) stray female that hangs around my house. She stretches a lot and is unbalanced. What is this?

I estimate she is about 1 year old. At first I thought the stretching was a nervous habit. She stretches out her back legs and will stay in that position for a full minute. She is rubbing on everything (because I think she's in heat). But also her balance is horrible. She is very wobbly. Is this a normal cat trait? Both of my cats are great jumpers & climbers. This is all new to me. Thanks!

ASKED BY

How do I discover what it is my cat needs to keep him from vocalizing so much?

Every morning around 4am, my cat comes in my room, sits on the windowsill, and begins to mew very loudly. He will usually quiet down after a while but is always back in the room in an hour or less, doing the same thing. He is keeping me from sleeping and making me a very cranky owner. I tried getting up and feeding him when he first starts, thinking that he was hungry, but that did not help. My cat is about 10 months old, long hair, and neutered. The mewing usually stops when I actually get out of bed, so I'm concerned that he just merely does not like me sleeping. How can I get this behavior to stop?

ASKED BY
