Kitten might have concussion 4 weeks old

my son threw my kitten about a foot. She is now wobbly when she walks, falls asleep randomly and is acting slightly confused. She is purring continually and won't stop, But her pupils are normal. please help!!

Please take her to the VET immediately. This is an EMERGENCY. Concussion could even lead to death, every second you delay the visit could mean fatal to your Kitty. and I hope you teach your son not to abuse the kitten further.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! She needs to go to the vet right away; hopefully you have already taken her. Please don't wait for any more 'answers.'

Also, some kittens and cats have a stress purr. Some cats purr when they are sick or injured or stressed, so the purring does not mean she is okay.

I am not sure how old your child is but your kitten should not be alone with him. Even if you are present, your child should not be handling the kitten without you helping. Your kitten and your child depend on you to keep them safe. Your kitten and your child also depend on you to show your child the appropriate way to touch and interact with animals.

I really hope your kitten is okay.

How old is your son, and why would he throw a helpless animal? If he is too young to know any better, you might want to supervise when he is around the kitten, and if he is old enough to know better, you have a serious issue to deal with.

Not picking on you, just wondering why it even happened. Please take the kitten to the vets. :-)

Oh no! Poor kitten! She needs serious medical attention right away. I hope there wasn't too much damage done.

I'm pretty certain she's purring from stress if she's doing it nonstop and seems disoriented and distressed. That's a very bad sign...cats are also known to purr before dying. :(

I hope that you've taken Kitty to the vet by now, and that she's doing well. If you haven't taken her yet, shame on you. And I agree with the poster who said that the problem is not just about the kitten, but also about your son. How old is he? When Kitty gets better, you must think of a way to keep this from happening again--even if it takes keeping your son and the cat separated permanently. If your son is two or three years old, this might be an excusable act...but if he's at the age when he should know enough not to inflict pain on another living creature, you may have a problem. Please let us know how things work out. We care.

I absolutely agree that you need to have an intense discussion with your son, AFTER you take baby kitty to the vet. There is no way you can diagnose what's going on with the kitty just because she's purring and her eyes look OK. She may have bleeding inside her head that you CAN'T see. And please know that we are NOT picking on you. However, we are not vets here and even if we were, we couldn't possibly diagnose and suggest treatment for something like this. Your kitty needs to go to the vet, now. If your kitty scratched your son and that's why he threw her, then you need to explain how to hold kitty so she doesn't feel she needs to put her claws into him, and trim her claws so they aren't so sharp.

You need to get your kitten to the vets As soon as possible. Depending on how she landed, she could have internal damage that only a vet can determine, or help. That kitty very well may die if you dont get her to the vets soon. Take her to an Emergency Vet, because the longer you wait, your kitty could be that much closer to dying.
