I think alot of places have this terrible problem. Try contacting Best Friends animal sanctuary with this problem. If they can't help you, they will be able to give you some shelters or rescue organizations in your area.

Go to Petfinder.com. Under "find animal welfare groups" you can type in your location and it will list animal rescues in your area. Give them a call, but don't be disappointed if they aren't able to help you. Animal welfare groups are doing everything they can but they rely on donations and volunteers so they can only do so much. There are more unwanted animals then there are homes, and unfortunately, many healthy pets are euthanized daily. There just isn't enough money to care for all the unwanted animals out there. What you can do is become proactive and encourage people to spay and neuter their pets so there aren't as many unwanted animals. Educating them on proper pet care can help people in this type of situation as it seems they are only wanting to get rid of the cats because of improper urination habits. If your vet can give them advice on helping their cats use the litter box, they may no longer want to get rid of the cats. Also, educate them on Felv and FIV.

If it were possible to hug a kitty over the Catster Website, I would certainly fling myself with great affection toward Jack. He said exactly what I was thinking. As a animal rescue volunteer for many years, we crusaded for spay and neuter. There wasn't a rescue with in 100 miles of us in all four directions who wasn't blasted with cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. It killed us to have to say no to taking in more animals, but many of our fosters had upwards of 2 dozen cat/kittens in their homes. I totally sympathize with your problem. Perhaps your staff could "foster" the cats who have inappropriate elimination issues and re-train them, making them adoptable again. Good luck, hon. I know how this can just tear you apart. You aren't alone and we're sending you many good thoughts.
